DETAILED ITINERARY
01 | Lauterbrunnen: Start Among the Mountains
Begin your journey from Basel or Zurich and head towards the Jungfrau Region.
Your first stop is Lauterbrunnen, one of the region's most scenic valleys. Take some time to enjoy the dramatic cliffs, traditional Alpine setting and surrounding waterfalls before continuing towards Interlaken.
Lauterbrunnen is also one of the established routes towards Jungfraujoch, with the railway connecting through Wengen and Kleine Scheidegg.
02 | Interlaken: A Taste of the Jungfrau Region
Continue to Interlaken, one of Switzerland's best-known Alpine towns.
Take a short walk through the town centre and enjoy views towards the surrounding mountains. Depending on the day's timing, there can also be time to explore the area around Höheweg or simply take a break before continuing to Jungfraujoch.
03 | Jungfraujoch: The Top of Europe
From Interlaken, continue your journey into the mountains towards Jungfraujoch at 3,454 metres.
The journey itself is part of the experience, taking you through the high Alpine landscape towards one of Switzerland's most famous mountain destinations. The current fastest connection from Interlaken uses the route via Grindelwald Terminal and the Eiger Express, followed by the railway to Jungfraujoch.
At the top, explore the Sphinx viewing terrace, Ice Palace, Alpine Sensation and the surrounding snow and glacier landscape.
Take your time to enjoy the views before beginning your descent.
04 | Grindelwald: Slow Down in the Evening
On your return from Jungfraujoch, continue towards Grindelwald.
Rather than adding another packed sightseeing stop, this part of the itinerary is designed to be relaxed. Take a walk through the village, enjoy the views of the surrounding peaks and soak in the atmosphere of this classic Swiss Alpine destination.
Grindelwald is known for its views towards the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau and is directly connected to Interlaken by the Bernese Oberland Railway.
05 | Return to Basel or Zurich
After your evening walk in Grindelwald, begin your return journey to Basel or Zurich.
The exact timing of each stop can be adjusted according to the Jungfraujoch railway timetable and the day's operating conditions.
