The Best Beaches in Da Nang

Written by Apr 01, 2026
Da Nang is often called the coastal capital of Vietnam, and for good reason. The city is blessed with a long coastline that stretches for miles, offering everything from busy tourist hubs to quiet, hidden bays. If you are coming to Da Nang, the chances are you want to spend some time with your toes in the sand. Here is a guide to the best beaches in the city and what makes each of them special.

My Khe Beach: The Heart of the City
My Khe is the most famous beach in Da Nang and was once named one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It is located right across the bridge from the city center, making it incredibly easy to reach. The sand here is fine and white, and the water stays warm almost all year round.
This is a great beach for people who like to stay active. You will find plenty of space for jogging, playing volleyball, or even trying out some water sports like parasailing and jet skiing. Because it is so close to the main hotel district, it is very convenient for a quick morning swim before you start your day of sightseeing.

Non Nuoc Beach: Luxury and Peace
If you travel a bit further south towards the Marble Mountains, you will find Non Nuoc Beach. This area feels very different from My Khe. It is much quieter and is mostly lined with high-end luxury resorts. The beach here is famous for its gentle slope and calm waves, making it a very safe place for families with children to swim.
Because many parts of this beach are managed by resorts, the sand is kept perfectly clean. It is the best spot in Da Nang if you want to escape the city noise and enjoy a peaceful day under a palm tree with a cold drink.

Bac My An Beach: The Social Hub
Located between My Khe and Non Nuoc, Bac My An is known for its high-quality sand and social atmosphere. This area is home to several famous beach clubs and resorts. It is a popular spot for travellers who want to enjoy a bit of luxury without being too far away from the local seafood restaurants and bars. The water here is clear, and the sunsets are particularly beautiful from this part of the coast.

Son Tra Peninsula: Hidden Coves
For those who want to get away from the crowds entirely, the Son Tra Peninsula offers several small, hidden beaches like Bai Bac and Bai Nam. These are not your typical long stretches of sand. Instead, they are small coves tucked between the jungle and the ocean.
To reach these spots, you will usually need a motorbike or a private car. The water here is often much clearer than at the city beaches, making it a great place for snorkelling. Just keep in mind that there are fewer facilities here, so it is a good idea to bring your own water and snacks.

When to Visit the Beach

The best time to enjoy the beaches in Da Nang is during the dry season, which runs from March to August. During these months, the water is calm, and the sky is blue.
One thing you will notice in Da Nang is that the locals love the beach at sunrise and sunset. If you go at 5:00 AM, you will see hundreds of people swimming and exercising. By midday, the beaches are often empty because of the heat. They come alive again after 5:00 PM when the sun starts to go down. Following this local schedule is the best way to enjoy the water without getting a sunburn.
