On 1st at Shimla day we were caught in rainy day. But that day was planned for museums and shopping, so rain wasn’t the problem for us. We hired a local cab for whole day from hotel. Our first spot was Himachal state museum. The museum was filled with combination of ancient architectures and modern art. It had rich collection of sculptures, paintings, ancient jewelries and dresses. We had a great experience of knowledge and art at same time.

After the museum we headed to The Mall Road, which is said to be most busiest place since the british rule and why not, after all it is the shopping destination of Shimla. Many movie scenes have also been shot here. Now before doing anything we had to try some local cuisines which took us to “ Aunty’s Kitchen” which is famous for it’s Tibetan dishes. After having a wholesome lunch, we were back on the streets for some shopping (Window). Clicking pictures and bargaining as were really interested in buying, we came across this beautiful street called “Lakkar Bazaar” which is famous for selling wooded decoratives. We saw some beautiful household items which one should buy if you want your guests to see your house beautiful.

It was dark and we decided to head back to hotel. The Mall Road usually closed by 8 at night. So I would suggest to plan accordingly. We had dinner at hotel which was cooked by our caretaker who was a local guy and had great taste of local food.
It was a nice day (not the weather) for us. We hoped the rain should stop tomorrow as we had planned some special spots for that day.
Finally our wish came true, IT WAS A SUNNY DAYYY…. Our 2nd day was planned for few outskirts’ spots.
We called the cab and went to our first spot - “Jakhoo Temple”. Mythology says, when lord Hanuman went to get the Sanjeevni booti for Laxman (in case you don’t know why – PLEASE READ RAMAYANA) he was stopped by a Sadhu at this place. There were lots of Monkeys over there (Beware – they can steal your belongings). There you will find a tall statue of Lord Hanuman which a build by a famous Bollywood actor.

After visiting the temple, we went to “Kufri” which is around 50 KM from Shimla. Kufri is said to be a hot destination near Shimla as you will find snow mountains here. Kufri is divided into 2 parts – Old and New. New kufri is famous for its adventure sports and fun activities. We chose to do few activity which was really fun for us. Spending some hours at new kufri, we went to old kufri which is famous for movie shooting destination. We went to top of the mountain on horses which itself was an adventure. On top of the mountain there were lots of small food stalls where we had our lunch. It was really beautiful scenery looking around the mountains. Same way we came to the top, our horses were ready to take us down. It was dusk and our cab took us back to the hotel.
It was a tiring day for all of us. So eating dinner and going to bed was the best option for all of us.

3rd day was of last day at Shimla and we had planned only one destination for that day since we had to catch our train from Kalka to Delhi in the evening. We took our cab and went to our last destination “Tara Devi Temple”. This temple is at the top of a mountain from where you can have a mesmerizing view of whole city. This place once belonged to a Maharaja which later he donated as the Goddess Tara was bought from West Bengal to Shimla. This is a must go spot if you are visiting Shimla.
At last we reached Kalka railway station following 3 hrs journey. We had booked our tickets in Kalka – Delhi Shatabdi express. Enjoying the train journey, we reached Delhi by 10 PM. That being the end our trip had given us lots of memories………….
