(Hello and welcome to the lands up North)

Day 1: Edinburgh and Harry Potter

On the first day of our holiday we took a very early morning flight from Basel to Edinburgh. Once we arrived at Edinburgh we went to our apartment and put our things there and went to explore the city. At first we went to find a place to eat breakfast and we found a Polish breakfast place. After breakfast we went to a Harry Potter tour where they showed different Buildings and Graveyards where the Author picked up ideas. Then we took a walk around Dean Village which was next to our apartment. After that we wrapt up early and went back to the apartment.

Day 2: Edinburgh Old Town

In the Morning we went to do a walking tour for Edinburgh Old town. After that we had lunch at a famous Indian restaurant called Dishoom. After Lunch my Mom went shopping and me and my sister went to a sweet shop and bought sweets. By that time it was already evening and it was time to go back to the apartment.

Day 3: Castles and The Monastery

On Day 3 we left Edinburgh to go to a place in the Highlands called Fort Augustus. On the way there we stopped at 2 castles called Blackness castle and Stirling castle and which Stirling was probably better. From there we drove directly to our hotel- apartment in Fort Augustus that once was an old monastery and then later a school now converted into a apartment building. At last we ate Chinese food for dinner and went to sleep.

Day 4: The Highlands and The Whisky

After waking up we went to another castle called Uruquart castle that had an amazing history. From they're we went to a Whisky Distillery and got a Whisky for our friends 25th Anniversary. After that we went to a city called Inverness and spent the rest of the evening there.

Day 5: The Isle Of Skye and The Storr

In the Morning we drove a long way to an Island called the Isle of Skye. There we hiked up a mountain called the Storr where it was very windy!!! Later we decided to visit a castle called Dunevegan Castle and Gardens but it was closed. Then we drove back to Fort Augustus.

Day 6: Long Road to Lake District

Once again we had to prepare ourselves for a long drive from Fort Augustus to Manchester. First though we stopped at Glasgow for a break and visited catterfly's contemporary artist Vipra Karkare. From there we went to our next Apartment that was in the lake district in northern England.

Day 7: Exploring Lake District

At around noon in the village of Bowness-on-Windmere we rented a boat and took it for a spin around the lake, it was very fun!!! I also got a chance to drive the boat along with my little sister. After that we had ice cream and ate lunch at a Thai restaurant. After that we visited Wray Castle and walked around the village Windmere. We came back to our apartment for the last night of our trip.

Day 8: The End of The Trip

On this day we were due to take a flight from Manchester back to our home in Basel. We spent some time walking around the Windermere old town and historical houses and then drove around 1hr 30min to Manchester and there we first visited the Old Trafford cricket stadium.

It was a very good experience in Scotland and I would advise people to go there. That is my travel experience from The Land up North. Hope you will enjoy it as much as I did...!
