Upon our arrival at the airport, we were warmly greeted and whisked away to the city. Checking into our hotel, the anticipation of the adventure ahead filled us with excitement. The evening unfolded with a visit to the Birla Temple, where we immersed ourselves in the serene ambiance. We ventured to the majestic Amber Fort next, soaking in the historical grandeur under the evening sky. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the city palace we saw in the evening. The Jaipur City Palace, a majestic complex, captivated us with its opulent blend of Mughal and Rajasthani architecture.
We spent the next day exploring the most well-known forts and palaces in Jaipur, immersing ourselves in the rich history and architectural splendor. Hawa Mahal, with its intricate latticework, offered a glimpse into the city's royal past. We ventured to the majestic Amber Fort next, soaking in the historical grandeur under the evening sky.
Our journey of inspiration led us to the astronomical observatory in Jantar Mantar, where we marveled at the precision of ancient astronomical instruments. The scientific ingenuity of the past left us in awe. As the day transitioned into evening, we strolled through a traditional shopping mall, our senses delighted by vibrant colors and local craftsmanship. Here, we seized the opportunity to pick up some charming souvenirs, each item carrying a piece of Jaipur's cultural essence.
We cannot talk about Jaipur without mentioning Choki Dhani that we visited. It is a mock village which is a perfect mirror to the Rajasthani culture, food, traditions and heritage. We visited during dinner time and the food was simply superb in terms of presentation, taste and variety. Definitely recommend it!
We reluctantly bid farewell to the Capital and embarked on a scenic drive to reach Jaisalmer. Excitement filled the air as we anticipated the unique charm this city promised. Upon arrival, our first stop was a museum and cultural center, providing us with an insightful introduction to the rich heritage of Jaisalmer. Our next day in Jaisalmer was kicked off with a visit to the stunning Jaisalmer Fort, an architectural marvel that stood proudly against the backdrop of the desert sky. Exploring its intricate passages and soaking in the panoramic views, we felt transported to a bygone era of regal grandeur. The adventure continued with an exotic desert experience, highlighted by a camel safari over the undulating sand dunes. The rhythmic sway of the camels and the vastness of the desert landscape created a surreal atmosphere. As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of gold, we returned to our camps, the day's journey etched in our memories. Our final night in Jaisalmer was made truly special with a dinner under the starlit desert sky, accompanied by captivating cultural performances.
We then embarked on a journey towards Jodhpur. Our exploration began with the abandoned ancient city of Mandore, where perfectly preserved gardens and monuments echoed tales of a bygone era.
