The Golden Bridge has become the face of Vietnam tourism in recent years. Perched high in the Truong Son Mountains near Da Nang, this stunning walkway appears to be held up by two massive, weathered stone hands. It is a sight that looks like it belongs in a fantasy movie, but it is very much a real place you can visit. Whether you are coming from Da Nang or Hoi An, here is how to make the most of your trip to the "hands of God."
What is the Golden Bridge?
Located at an altitude of over 1,400 meters above sea level, the bridge stretches 150 meters across the mountainside. The design was intended to look like a giant silk strip being pulled from the earth by the hands of a mountain god. While the hands look like they are made of ancient stone, they are actually made of fibreglass and wire mesh, painted to look aged and mossy. Walking across the bridge feels like walking through the clouds, especially on misty mornings when the view below is hidden by white fog.
How to Get There
The Golden Bridge is located within the Sun World Ba Na Hills resort, about 45 minutes to an hour outside of Da Nang. Most travellers choose one of three ways to get there:
Private Car or Taxi: This is the most comfortable option. You can book a car for the day to take you from your hotel and wait for you while you explore.
Shuttle Bus: Many companies offer daily shuttle services from Da Nang and Hoi An for a lower price than a private taxi.
Group Tours: Joining a tour is a great way to handle everything at once. Most tours include transport, your entrance ticket, and a lunch buffet.
Tickets and Opening Hours
To see the bridge, you must buy a ticket for Sun World Ba Na Hills. This ticket includes the cable car ride, access to the Golden Bridge, the French Village, and the indoor amusement park.
Price: For 2026, the standard adult ticket is roughly 950,000 VND (about 38 USD). Children under 1.4 meters tall are usually 750,000 VND.
Hours: The park is generally open from 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM. The cable cars start running early, so it is a good idea to be at the gate by 7:00 AM if you want to be the first one on the bridge.
The Best Time to Visit
The weather at Ba Na Hills is famous for changing four times in a single day. You might start with spring-like coolness in the morning and end with a chilly winter evening.
To Avoid Crowds: You should try to arrive at the bridge before 8:30 AM. After this time, large tour groups begin to arrive, and it can become very crowded. Alternatively, visiting in the late afternoon (after 4:00 PM) often offers a more peaceful experience as people begin to head back down the mountain.
Season: The dry season from March to September is the best time for clear views. During the rainy season, the bridge is often covered in thick fog, which is atmospheric but makes it hard to see the coastline.
Other Things to See at Ba Na Hills
The Golden Bridge is just one part of the resort. After you finish taking photos on the bridge, you can take another cable car further up the mountain to see:
The French Village: A beautiful recreation of medieval France with cobblestone streets, castles, and a Gothic cathedral.
Le Jardin D’Amour: Nine unique gardens, each with a different theme and flower arrangement.
Linh Ung Pagoda: Home to a massive white Buddha statue that stands 27 meters tall, overlooking the mountains.
Debay Wine Cellar: A historic cellar dug deep into the mountain by the French in 1923, where you can still taste traditional wines.
