Every summer, the seaside resort of Søndervig transforms into an open-air gallery of monumental sand art during the Søndervig Sand Sculpture Festival. Set among the windswept dunes along Denmark’s North Sea coast, this unique event showcases enormous sculptures carved from thousands of tons of sand by internationally renowned artists. The centrepiece is an extraordinary sculpture wall stretching roughly 200 meters long and rising up to 7 meters high, often considered the longest sand sculpture wall in the world. Each year, the exhibition adopts a new theme, bringing historical stories, mythology, nature, and culture to life through intricate, highly detailed sand sculptures.
