Alsace Villages & Colmar Day Trip from Basel with Wine Tastings

Discover the charm of France’s Alsace Wine Route on a full-day trip from Basel.
Discover the beauty of France’s Alsace region on a full-day journey from Basel, combining picturesque wine villages, local wine tastings and the colourful streets of Colmar. Travel comfortably with an English-speaking local driver and guide as you explore the heart of the Alsace Wine Route, with time to wander through medieval villages, discover local vineyards and enjoy the region at a relaxed pace.

Your day begins in Eguisheim, one of Alsace’s most beautiful villages, surrounded by vineyards and known for its circular medieval streets, colourful half-timbered houses and flower-filled courtyards. Continue to Riquewihr, a beautifully preserved wine village where cobblestone lanes and pastel-coloured houses create a setting that feels almost unchanged since the 16th century. Along the way, enjoy two wine-tasting experiences, sampling local Alsace wines including regional favourites such as Riesling and Gewürztraminer.

Continue to Colmar, where you can explore the historic Old Town, admire the Saint-Martin Collegiate Church and wander through Petite Venise, the city's picturesque canal district. Depending on the pace of the day and your preferences, the itinerary can also include Kaysersberg, Ribeauvillé or Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg. The experience can be customized, with alternative pickup points available around Alsace, Basel, Zurich, Lucerne and parts of Germany.
